WE RUSHIN' !!!!

It just keeps getting better !!!

This is the first Bahamian thing you'll own. It's a customs sticker that is changed every month.

Everybody Rushes.

Boy with goatskin drum 6am Boxing Day morning.

The music of Junkanoo is as unique as it is powerful. Even the dead dance in their graves when the contagious drum beat of Junkanoo morning sounds!!!

When we were kids ...

The Young Ones - Way Back when ...

This is my Grandma(celestina gibson) and her grandkids (my cousins and I about twenty years ago)From top left to bottom right : Richard(richie), Grammy, Aldean (Zuma), Andy (Money) and me Tina.

My Mommy!

In all the world ... you only have one mother .

This is my mommy, Inez Gibson. I took this picture February 1998 in our front yard. She is wonderful. A Sunday school superintendent for over ten years, she is a font of good ideas and love for children. She only recently retired from teaching after thirty-eight(38) years. One of the things I love about my mom is that she is not afraid- of anything! She taught us "to thine own self be true." This is the ideal I strive for, ultimate self-truth. I love her with all my heart and soul. She is the best mom in the whole world.

Junkanoo !!!

A Music Maker

The trumpeteers, the saxophonists, the clarinetists, the drummers, the whistle blowers and the cowbell ringers work ever so hard to keep the energy level high and the crowd awake during pre-dawn parade. The body moving rhythms infect everyone. Soon the tiredness and the cold of the morning are forgotten. All that matters is the music!
