I am Bahamian. Yes- The Bahamas. A beautiful island nation, my country is beautiful, dramatic and serene. With vistas of angry ocean contrasted by calm quiet shoals, it is truly a natural wonder.
The Bahamas is a archipelago or island nation on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean . My country is made up of over 700 islands, cays(pronounced keys) and rocks and ledges jutting out of the ocean. Our main industry is tourism. I'll place a map here shortly so that I can show you historical places and other interesting spots. Rediscovered in 1492 by Christopher Columbus, our country has a long and colorful past.

It is an independent island nation with a unique culture, people and its own flavor.The capital city, Nassau, is located on one of the smaller islands- New Providence- measuring only 7m by 21m square miles. Not only does this small island contain more than half of the country's population, it also contains a rich historical legacy dating back to the era of Columbus.
